Our Internet is broken. Heaven help us, our internet is broken.
You never know just how dependent on (i.e.: addicted to) the internet until it breaks.
It reminds me of those times when I was a kid when we’d take our yearly trip to Aspen to stay in my Dad’s company’s timeshare. My brother and I would be all excited, YAY! A week in mountainous Aspen! THEN…we’d remember the timeshare had no TV.
What would we do? My parents would admonish us, reminding us that when THEY were kids there WAS no TV. Yes, I am old enough to have parents that remember a time without TV. Let that sit for a second. Can you imagine a world without TV? Yes, I’m sure there are those of you out there that don’t watch that much TV, but think about it for a second. Think of all the restaurants with tvs, the cafes, the pool halls, the bars, hell, the last time I was at the doctor, there was a TV in the waiting room. Now, imagine a world where NONE of that exists. Can you?
Anyway, we are adjusting to life without the internet, and not so well. I need to post the comic after all. Until we get our new modem and our new service, the comic may be late.
Please bear with us.
I’d write more, but the air conditioning in the Coffee Bean is blowing right on me and Sara as I write this. We are literally freezing. Time to go!
